The purpose of this building is to support medical research and teaching.The pathology laboratory is located on the fifth floor,and the standard laboratories on the sixth and tenth floors.In addition, four Biosafety Level 3 laboratories are located on the tenth floor.
The third floor ward in clinical research connects with the main medical building to ease the transport of patients for special treatments.
The Animal Housing and Resource Center is located in a basement. Access to the parking structure is available on the seventh floor. Many supportive facilities are also part of the plan, including a conference room and information center to name a few.
