The E-Da Hospital was founded by the steel industry, an enormous contributor to the development of Taiwan. The purpose of establishing the hospital was to provide humanitarian and high quality medical services, foster medical talents and to develop advanced medical research.
In order to meet the needs of patients and their families, the hospital aimed to create a hotel-like place that is both comfortable and warm. More important, the hospital is not profit-oriented.
